Mark’s Horse Transport was established in 1993
Mark, having a passion for horses, started transporting horses in the early days using two berths and four berths.
Realising the demand for transporting larger amounts of horses and a safer way to transport was to use ridged trucks.
- Over the years we have had numerous trucks. Our trucks are replaced every few years as we pride ourselves in reliability. Our floats are clean and comfortable
- When we do long distance we offer the facility of overnighting your horses in secure stables along the way, enabling them to rest half way through the long journey, this enables them to travel better and arrive at their destination happy and healthy
- Loading difficult, young and wild horses, we use kind, calm methods to load them and have achieved success with these methods
- Our trucks are owner driven
- Our motto is “the horse comes first”. All horses are treated with kindness and respect. Their every need is attended to whilst they are with us
- We offer stabling for horses staying with us to travel the next day or for as long as needed
- In 2004 we transported the Lipizzaner’s and miniature ponies to and from the Cinderella concert at the Johannesburg Civic Theatre
- Race horse trainers use Mark’s Horse Transport to transport their race horses to various racetracks throughout South Africa
- Our cross border transport extends as far as horses to and from Kenya
- We have clients in Arusha, Tanzania, who we take up horses for every year
- Our Polo and Polo Cross clients, in Livingston and Lusaka, Zambia, use us to buy, stable and transport horses for them on a regular basis
- Horseback safari companies in Botswana use us to transport their trail horses from South Africa up to the Okavango Delta
